Where to Stay in Nusa Lembongan: Best Areas, Hotels & Beachfront Stays in 2025
Last Updated on November 7, 2025
Are you planning an island escape to Nusa Lembongan and wondering where to stay?
After living in Bali for a while, traveling to Nusa Lembongan felt like a breath of fresh air. This island is pure paradise — yet, for some reason (and luckily, I’d say), it doesn’t attract the same crowds as Uluwatu, Canggu, or even the Gili Islands.
Most visitors come here looking for a peaceful holiday, surrounded by crystal-clear waters and slow island living.
I spent a week exploring every corner of Nusa Lembongan by scooter. In this mini guide, I’ll guide you through where to stay in Nusa Lembongan, including the highlights of each location and the best accommodations for every budget.

How To Get To Nusa Lembongan
Nusa Lembongan is located just 30 minutes off the coast of Bali and is easy to reach by fast boat from Sanur Port. Fast boats arrive at either Mushroom Bay, on the southwest coast of Nusa Lembongan, or Jungut Batu Beach, located towards the northwest of the island.
Depending on where you decide to stay, you can choose the fast boat that lands closer to your accommodation.
Most hotels and guesthouses can help arrange everything for you — from hotel pick-up in Sanur to the ferry tickets and drop-off at your stay in Lembongan — so all you have to do is pack your bags and go.
If you prefer to organize it yourself, you can easily book your fast boat tickets online. Just make sure to check which beach each company arrives at (for example, I traveled with Dream Beach Express, which docks at Mushroom Bay).
⭐ Tip: Both at Jungut Batu Beach and Mushroom Bay, there’s no jetty. This means you’ll need to step into shallow water before reaching the sand — so wear something short or something you don’t mind getting wet.
How Many Days in Nusa Lembongan
Nusa Lembongan is all about relaxation, so I think two full days are perfect if you’re mainly interested in beach hopping and sunbathing around the island.
However, four days would be ideal if you also want to plan a day trip to Nusa Penida or organize a snorkeling or diving tour.
Where to Stay in Nusa Lembongan
There are two main areas where visitors usually stay in Nusa Lembongan: Mushroom Bay and Jungut Batu. Despite both being popular and home to beautiful, pristine beaches, neither feels overly touristy or crowded. Everywhere on Lembongan feels very peaceful.
I personally stayed in the Mushroom Bay area without doing much research beforehand. Even though it’s a smaller area with fewer options than Jungut Batu, it turned out to be perfect for me. I loved that my stay was so close to the beach, that I could head there in time for sunset every evening.

While exploring Jungut Batu, I immediately noticed how much more expansive it is, with a wider variety of restaurants, cafés, and yoga studios. It’s also very easy to get around if you prefer walking or cycling.
Finally, less popular — and maybe for that reason, more unique — is Nusa Ceningan, another great area to consider if you’re deciding where to stay in Nusa Lembongan.
There aren’t as many restaurants or cafés here (though some of the best beaches and pool clubs are on this side), and you’ll need a scooter to explore the island. But if you’re after real peace, Nusa Ceningan might be just what you’re looking for.
1. Mushroom Bay
I consider the Mushroom Bay area to be the stretch of land that extends from Mushroom Beach to Dream Beach on the southern side of the island. This area is very easy to explore on foot — as long as you don’t mind a 15–20 minute walk.
You won’t find long stretches of beach here, as much of the shoreline is rocky, with dramatic coastal cliffs like Devil’s Tear. Still, you’ll come across smaller but beautiful spots such as the iconic Dream Beach and the peaceful Tamarind Beach or Hidden Beach.
As you wander inland, you’ll find plenty of tiny cafés, local warungs, and a few interesting souvenir shops.
Accommodations Around Mushroom Bay Area
Around Mushroom Bay, you’ll find a great variety of accommodations — from cozy homestays and beach bungalows to boutique hotels and beachfront resorts. Below are some of the best places to stay in Mushroom Bay.
- Pattri Garden (low-budget option): This lovely bungalow-style stay is where I stayed on Nusa Lembongan. The location is perfect — just a five-minute walk from Mushroom Beach, with plenty of restaurants and Warungs nearby. The garden and swimming pool are beautiful, and breakfast is simple but good. The staff can also help you organize island tours and arrange your fast boat tickets back to Bali.

- Dream Beach Huts (mid-budget option): I didn’t stay overnight at Dream Beach Huts, but I spent two full days at their pool club and tried many of their services, including the spa and restaurant. The property is just above Dream Beach and features beachfront bungalows surrounded by a beautifully maintained garden.
- Hai Tide Beach Resort (high-end option): This property has the best location. Its lovely bungalows open directly onto the sand of Mushroom Beach. The pool area, reserved exclusively for resort guests, is a dream, and the nearby Hai Bar & Grill serves some of the best seafood I’ve had on the island.
Things to Do Around Mushroom Bay
Even though the area around Mushroom Beach feels more compact, there are still plenty of things to do here.
Beaches
As mentioned, there are plenty of smaller beaches in this area, with Mushroom Beach and Dream Beach being the most visited (though they each have very different vibes). On the other hand, Tamarind Beach and Secret Beach feel more remote and peaceful — perfect if you’re looking for some quiet time.

Sights
Devil’s Tear is one of the most dramatic spots on Nusa Lembongan, located just a short walk from Dream Beach. Here, powerful waves crash against jagged limestone cliffs, sending water high into the air. You can walk along the cliffs to take in the views and take some pictures. It’s especially beautiful at sunset.
Pool Clubs
Around the area, you’ll find a couple of fun, laid-back pool clubs where you can spend the afternoon — or even the whole day — sunbathing. Loungers cost around IDR 100K per day, and you’ll get access to all their facilities.
My favorite spots were the pool club at Dream Beach Huts, located just above Dream Beach (pool and ocean views at once!), and Sandy Bay Beach Club, set in front of the rocky Sandy Bay.
The beach here isn’t ideal for swimming, so the pool club is a perfect way to still enjoy the view and atmosphere.

Cafés
Inland, along the minor road that connects Mushroom Bay to Dream Beach, you’ll find a few great cafés.
One of my favorites is Mushroom Espresso, perfect for a great cappuccino (if you’ve had enough of Balinese coffee).
If you’re craving a smoothie bowl, head to Cookies Coffee Shop & Food — despite the name, they don’t actually have cookies, but their smoothie bowls and healthy breakfasts are delicious.
Restaurants
If you’re looking for great food in the area, Hai Tide Bar & Grill served the best seafood I had on the island — plus, you can’t beat the location, right on the sand of Mushroom Beach.
For a fun, feel-good vibe, check out L Good Bar. It’s affordable, and every dish comes with access to their delicious salad bar.

Yoga & Pilates Studios
Right behind Cookies Coffee Shop and Food, you’ll find the Yoga Garden, where the Pilates Collective offer both Pilates and Yoga classes. The garden and open-air shala are lovely, and I had the nicest Pilates class surrounded by lush tropical nature.

2. Jungut Batu
I consider the Jungut Batu area to be the stretch that runs from the famous Deck Bar all the way up to the Mangrove Forest in the north. The most popular part to stay in is definitely along the long beach that lines the coast.
It’s very easy to walk from accommodations located slightly inland to the beautiful beach or to the nearby cafés and restaurants along the main road, which runs parallel to the shore.
If you prefer not to rent a scooter, Jungut Batu is the best area to stay in Nusa Lembongan. The roads here are flat, easy to walk or even rent a bicycle to get around. It’s also one of the best spots on the island for swimming and sunbathing.

Accommodations Around Jungut Batu
Around Jungut Batu Beach, you’ll find plenty of places to stay, most of them just a five-minute walk from the sand. Below are some great accommodation options near Jungut Batu Beach.
- Helly’s Secret Garden Cottage (low-budget): Such great value for clean and spacious bungalow-style rooms! Helly’s Garden has the perfect location — close to the beach, yet peaceful enough. The staff is always available to help with tours, ferry tickets, or anything else you might need.
- Su Casa Boutique Hotel Lembongan (mid-budget option): Don’t be fooled by the mid-budget label — this boutique hostel is a real gem. The building is clean, cozy, and brand new, and the lovely swimming pool is the perfect spot to unwind in the afternoon.
- Tamarind Resort (high-end option): At The Tamarind Resort, you’ll find everything you could need—and more. The resort features a spa, a restaurant, and an unbeatable location overlooking Jungut Batu Beach and Mount Agung. It’s close to everything, including the ferry drop-off point, which is just a short walk away.
Things to Do Around Jungut Batu
Beaches
Of course, the highlight of the area is the long stretch of beach that runs from The Deck Café and Bar all the way up to Agung Beach Club in the north.
The northwestern part is perfect for long sandy walks, sunbathing, and swimming. At the same time, further north, you’ll get to see the breathtaking views of Mount Agung in Bali, rising across the sea.

Surf & Water Sports
Nusa Lembongan is a surfers’ favorite destination, especially around Jungut Batu Beach. You’ll find spots for all levels — Playgrounds is perfect for beginners, while heading north, you’ll reach Lacerations, Shipwrecks, and Razors, which are better for intermediate and advanced surfers.
Around Jungut Batu, you can also easily rent a paddleboard or kayak to explore the nearby mangrove forests.
Restaurants & Cafés
If you’re after great food and stunning views around Jungut Batu, you can’t miss The Deck Café & Bar — one of the island’s most popular spots overlooking the entire beach with a view of Mount Agung.
For something healthy with your feet in the sand, stop by Ginger and Jamu. They’re all about whole foods and holistic nutrition, and their smoothie bowls and salads are some of the best on the island.
Finally, if you’re in the mood for a fun and lively evening, check out Fin Island Bar and Restaurant. They often host live music and local bands.

Yoga & Pilates
Around the Jungut Batu area, you’ll actually find more yoga and Pilates studios than around Mushroom Bay. I personally haven’t tried them, but here are some great options to consider if you’re looking to stay active on the island.
Shizaru offers both hot yoga (Bikram) and hot Pilates classes, with two sessions a day alternating between the two.
If you’re looking for a gym combined with Pilates, check out 3 Monkeys Lembongan, which offers both facilities. Finally, for a more traditional yoga experience, Island Yoga and Yoga Bliss are two lovely studios with peaceful settings and great teachers.
3. Nusa Ceningan
Nusa Ceningan is the smaller of the Nusa Islands and can be considered an extension of Nusa Lembongan, as only the Yellow Bridge and the Ceningan Canal separate the two islands.
It’s a much less conventional choice for where to stay, considering the island is tiny and you may feel a bit isolated. However, Nusa Lembongan is just a 15-minute scooter ride away, so if you have your own transport, you don’t have to worry.

The vibe on Nusa Ceningan is very peaceful, especially all along the main road leading to the most iconic sights here: Mahana Point and Blue Lagoon.
On Nusa Ceningan, you can also find some of the coolest beach clubs and great accommodations (and, of course, a great value).
Accommodations On Nusa Ceningan
- Aurora Beach View (low-budget): As the name suggests, this lovely modern stay is located right in front of the beach. The rooms are modern, bright, and spotless, and from there you can enjoy both the sunset and the view of the canal. It’s the perfect stay for anyone looking for peace, with Nusa Lembongan just a few minutes away by scooter.
- ARNA Suites and Ocean Lounge (high-end option): This place is located in one of the most incredible spots on Nusa Ceningan, perched right on the cliffs of Blue Lagoon. Imagine falling asleep to the sound of waves crashing against the rocks below. The bungalows feel luxurious and modern, and the view from here is absolutely unmatched.

Things to Do Around Nusa Ceningan
Beaches
When it comes to beaches on Nusa Ceningan, you definitely shouldn’t miss Secret Beach, located in a hidden bay on the southwestern side.
The road to get there is a bit rough, but it’s well worth it for the beauty of this remote, stretch of sand with crystal-clear waters.
Much easier to reach—and especially popular for photos and sunsets—is Song Tepo Beach, located on the northern side of the island, not far from the Yellow Bridge.

Sunset Points
If you had to do just one thing on Nusa Ceningan, it would be to watch the sunset from the cliffs on the western side of the island.
The most stunning spots are Blue Lagoon and Mahana Point. To reach them, ride your scooter to the end of the main road, park, and follow the signs. They’re close to each other—and their beauty is impossible to miss.

Pool Clubs
When I asked a local for the best pool clubs around Nusa Lembongan, he actually mentioned two—and both are on Nusa Ceningan.
The first one you should absolutely check out is Suku Beach Club. Located near Mahana Point, it’s a spotless and elegant beach club with white-painted walls, a lovely swimming pool overlooking the ocean, and great cocktails and food.
The second one is the more popular Le Pirate Beach Club, located near Song Tepo Beach on a small cliff overlooking the canal. It’s a great spot to spend a few hours relaxing with a drink and taking in the view.
There you go — my two cents on where to stay in Nusa Lembongan. Overall, I’d say that both Mushroom Bay and Jungut Batu are great if you want to be close to the beach.
However, Jungut Batu is better if you’re not planning on renting a scooter, as there are more options nearby. Nusa Ceningan is perfect for anyone who doesn’t mind a peaceful stay.
Wherever you end up, Nusa Lembongan is pure paradise, and I’m sure you’ll love your time there.
